Waiting on Wednesday (10)

Jill over at Breaking the Spine started this and I daresay it's awesome.

My pick for this week = The Hollow by Jessica Verday.

Visiting graves and talking to tombstones was all a part of daily life in Sleepy Hollow for sixteen year old Abigail Browning. But that normal life is turned upside down by the unexpected death of her best friend Kristen, and Abbey struggles to deal with the sudden loss. Feelings of hurt and betrayal follow closely behind, as a hidden diary reveals that Kristen was keeping secrets from her.

Torn between her grief and anger, Abbey sets out to uncover the truth with the help of a new friend, Caspian; a mysterious boy who has a secret of his own. Along the way, she'll stumble upon the buried past of her famous town and learn that some secrets are kept for a reason, when she inadvertently comes face to face with the real Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

The cover is just gorgeous, isn't it? It's kinda unnerving, but something tells me this is what they were aiming for.

Yeah that cover is a bit off, I've decided that is a robot model posing on the cover.

OOh, interesting--and undecided on the cover--looks a little mermaid-ish to me???

It's a bit of an odd cover, but I think it's kind of pretty. This book sounds awesome though. Jessica is great!

This book does look interesting. The girl looks hauntingly beautiful although a bit dewy. Sounds like a good read. I will keep my eyes open for it.

I like the "Waiting on Wednesday" idea, too. I'm giving it a try over at http://readingjunky.blogspot.com/

I like the cover (the girl looks quite weird if you stare at it long enough) but I would pick it up thinking it is some awesome fantasy. Seems though it may have some supernatural things, not sure if I'll like it.

I saw the name Caspian and was like NARNIA SRSLY? Lmao, but it sounds so intriguing. I'm waiting to see some reviews for it, but I'll probably end up getting it anyway. You know how to pick 'em. xD

Thanks for the shout-out, Steph! And LMAO at the Narnia comment. Funny tidbit: I picked the name Caspian because I saw a world traveling blog post about the Caspian Sea and thought hmm... It wasn't until I was halfway through writing the book that I thought the same exact thing- Narnia! Seriously?! *Sigh* But I just couldn't change it after that. He was forever Caspian. ;)

I like the cover too. Sort of reminds me of Generation Dead's cover.

I agree with Alea.
There's no way that the model isn't a robot....

;) But the plot sounds goooooooddd.

The cover's kind of Zombie Blonde-inspired, I think.

And Caspian? For serious? Didn't C.S. Lewis do that fifty-plus years ago?

This book sounds soooo good. Can't wait to read it. I couldn't find anything about the author though. Do you know if she's got a website or something?

I like the cover, it's nice. But I'm not really getting creepy from it-am I missing something. I could see the "mermaid" thing, but... robot? zombie-blonde inspired? wow-totally over my head. And I LOVE the name Caspian. It's refreshingly new in a world of Tom, Dicks and Harrys. Thanks for telling me about this, I'm off to my Amazon wish list.
